Lectura de sambata dimineata
Serendipity si legea atractiei. Daca mai aveam nevoie de confirmari despre inexistenta coincidentelor, yesterday was IT.
In NY Times
Iman, not just a pretty face – fosta manechina, fosta sotie a lui David Bowie, actuala puternica influenta in lumea modei. Tot pe NY Times.
Made to order, $5,000 antidote to a casual age – un articol despre un fel de consultant de stil/ couturier al unui stil „traditional with a twist”. In continuare, pe NY Times.
A new pragmatism behind the catwalk – “A post-recession strategy likely to define luxury brand management for the early 21st century has emerged from a week packed with designer changes at European fashion houses… the era of the star designer… is over.” De aceasta data, pe International Herald Tribune.
Without the prints, can it still be a Pucci? „Under the hand of designer Peter Dundas, the six-decade-old fashion house is reinventing itself as an It brand. In the process, it is shifting its emphasis from kaleidoscopic cruisewear to cocktail dresses and sweeping gowns.”
Are luxury brands just shuffling chairs on the deck of the Titanic? “The brand leaders appear to know that something needs to be changed, but as they’re charging forward with their lists of decisions… there’s little to no public attention being paid to the water pouring into the forward compartments below.”
Louis Vuitton: where the boom never ends – “We have a wider range of product – ready-to-wear, watches, jewellery – than we did 30 or 40 years ago…but the spirit is the same. In each product we have an extraordinary mix of tradition and innovation.” In The Independent.
It’s corset time again – ceva mai rafinat, care sa ne modeleze silueta dupa cea a personajelor feminine din Mad Men. Pe Times Uk.
