Anna Piagi, fashion editor with keen eyes for trends, dies at 81 – “Anna Piaggi, an oracular Italian fashion editor known for an endless array of eye-popping, wildly colorful outfits of the most peculiar combinations, ranging from vintage Patou to thermal mountain rescue coats to a uniform vest from late-period McDonald’s, died Tuesday at her home in Milan.” In NY Times.

Who’s that girl? Elin Kling – “Kling’s blog, Style by Kling , has garnered an army of adoring readers since she launched in 2007. Less well-known is her role as co-founder of a blog portal, Fashion Networks International. FNI’s website, NowManifest.” In The Telegraph.

Twenty five shades of you know what… – „Grey is the shade of the season, Tina Gaudoin on fall’s hottest looks in its coolest color.” In Wall Street Journal.

Cuffed by a colour – „The designers who are betting that the book’s (50 shades of Grey) popularity will act as a spur, sending consumers into stores for their very own wardrobe-ready souvenirs.” In Financial Times.

New cool for Russia’s  super-rich: slumming it – “Gone are the Beluga caviar parties and ostentation that marked the arrival of Russia’s billionaire barons onto the world stage: the new cool for real oligarchs is a much more modest mingling among the common people.” Pe Reuters.

China’s passion for fashion catapults blogger to stardom – “Until recently Han Huohuo was just a twenty-something Chinese fashion blogger. Today, he enjoys front-row seats at European catwalk shows and rubs shoulders with the editor of Chinese Vogue.” Pe Channel News Asia.

Guided by Lucky Magazine, shopping will soon require less clicking – “Before women go to the mall, they go to the shopping bible Lucky. Now the magazine wants to save them the price of gas… Instead of directing shoppers to store sites to buy items, a shopper never has to leave the myLucky site and can keep items from multiple stores in her shopping cart.” In NY Times.

The women in white – „The Little White Dress really is the new LBD this season. Ice cool, as refreshing as mouth-tingling ice-cream, and appropriate for almost every occasion, this is what ladylike glamour means.” In Financial Times.

Techies break a fashion taboo – “Despite the geek stereotypes of hoodie sweatshirts, flip-flops and thick glasses, it makes perfect sense, these women say, for people interested in technology to be intrigued by fashion. ‘Designing software and products isn’t all that different from the design of clothes,’ Ms. Mayer, 37, the new chief executive of Yahoo, said in an interview last February.” In NY Times.
