Front row to fashion – „Of the hundreds of fall 2014 collections shown during New York Fashion Week, here are the ones that left the biggest impressions on fashion editors as they headed off to the next round of shows, in London, Milan and Paris.” In NY Times.

Important pink moments in Comme des Garcons history – „This season, AnOther, with the help of Mia Wasikowska, Rei Kawakubo and Comme des Garçons are celebrating pink. Pink tights, pink ruffles and and a pink patterned teddy bear.” In AnOther Magazine.

Lessons from the stylish: Amy Smilovic, founder of Tibi – „Smilovic is a wry and thoughtful dresser who specialises in coming at fashion from unexpected angles. The secret to her style is deceptively simple basics in luxurious fabrics – and a ban on all gymwear” In The Telegraph.

Shoes are getting more attention on designer runway – “Fashion week audiences are turning their gaze downward to the shoes designers pair with new looks … As more designers see the profit potential in footwear, they are lavishing more attention on the shoes they send down the runway.” In Wall Street Journal

Top 10 cult fashion documentaries – „From Wim Wenders to John Galliano, we chart the cult documentaries of the fashion world” In Dazed Digital

In fashion, fame’s last bastion – „If Fashion Week is a safari, reporters and photographers are the underpaid tour guides, celebrities are the endangered animals and consumers are the tourists seeing a very idealized version of Africa.” In NY Times

Style Points Prove Scarce in Sochi – “With rare exceptions (the hand-knit Bad Christmas sweaters devised by Polo Ralph Lauren for the United States team, and already selling on eBay for thousands), the current Olympics are a perfect reflection of style homogenization.” In NY Times.

Reinventing Retail by Shaping Culture – “Whether an industry is dominated by pure-play or multichannel behavior, or how a shopper choses their shopping experience, it would most likely contain at least one digital touch point.” In Forbes.

The killer detail: defining moments in fashion – „This book looks at those famous few, whose decision to wear something ‘just so’ went on to dramatically alter the fashion landscape. The Killer Detail presents iconic fashion moments from 126 of these doyens and dignitaries – everyone from Dolly Parton to Marguerite Duras, Frida Kahlo to Kate Moss, Sophie Loren to PJ Harvey, Frank Sinatra to Marvin Gaye.” In AnOther Magazine

Dissilusioned hedonist shopper – “The number of luxury consumers has more than tripled in under 20 years, to around 330m people. Spending has risen at a similar rate, to an estimated €217 billion ($300 billion) in 2013. Around 130m of these consumers are in emerging markets, and 50m of those in China.” In The Economist
